Logan Stinson and Daniel Flynn Named CACC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University men's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season Title with two wins last week, picking up a pair of CACC Players of the Week as well.

The Wildcats defeated Dominican and Post last week to go undefeated in CACC play, 8-0, and win their second ever CACC Regular Season Championship. They will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament and host a Semifinal match on Wednesday, May 1, at the WU Athletics Complex.

Logan Stinson (Lafayette, La.) was named the CACC Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats with 13 goals and two assists for 15 points in two games. He scored his 13 goals on 17 shots on goal and just 22 shots overall. His week started with seven goals on 11 shots at Dominican, adding two ground balls. He then went on and scored six goals while adding two assists on 11 shots at Post, adding three ground balls in the win. Stinson is now second in all of NCAA DII in scoring 4.42 goals per game.

Daniel Flynn (New York, N.Y.) was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Week after holding down the cage in the Wildcats' two victories. He amassed an 8.67 goals against average while making saves on 62.9 percent of the shots on goal. He recorded nine saves int eh first half at Dominican, allowing three goals while earning a .750 save percentage. He then played the full game at Post, making 13 saves while earning a .565 save percentage in the 15-10 victory.

Freshman Josh Weston was named to the CACC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll after scoring four goals and adding two assists in the 2-0 week. Baseball's Matt Warrington was named to the CACC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll after throwing 8.0 innings with eight strikeouts in a win against Jefferson. Softball's Haley Downin and Sam Freeland were named to the CACC Softball Weekly Honor Roll in leading the Wildcats to a 4-0 week as well.
