Kim Lawrence, a pitcher, comes to Wilmington from McKean High School, where she was a First Team All Blue-Hen Conference and First Team All-State selection this past season.  She was also a First Team All-Conference and All-State Selection her junior year as well.  During the 2005 season, Lawrence went 17-3 with a 0.54 ERA.  In 129 innings, she struck out an astounding 227 batters.   This past season, Kim went 17-4 for the Highlanders with a 1.33 ERA.  In 121 innings, she struck out 213, and recorded 10 or more strikeouts in 15 of her 21 games.  Lawrence hit .517 on the year with 16 runs batted in.

Brooke Shallcross, an infielder from Middletown High School, was a First Team All-Blue Hen Conference and Second Team All-State selection this past season.  She manned third base for the Cavaliers and finished the regular season with a team-best .475 batting average.  Brooke will be joining her older sister Nikki, a pitcher who just completed her junior year for the Wildcats.

Katie Turner, a former All-State and All-Henlopen Conference hurler from Smyrna High School, ended her high school career by being named Most Valuable Player of the annual Blue-Gold Senior All-Star Game where she struck out seven of the nine batters she faced.

Lindsay Watson, an infielder, hails from Sussex Central High School, where she was a First Team All-Henlopen Conference and First Team All-State selection in 2006.  She manned third base for the Knights, and was a starter on their state-championship team from a year ago.  Watson finished the season with a  .508 batting average to go along with 10 doubles and 19 runs batted in.

Wilmington is also adding a transfer in Linsday Frye (Brandywine HS/Claymont, DE).  Frye comes to the 'Cats from Kutztown University and will enter her sophomore year of eligibility.  A former All-Blue Hen Conference infielder at Brandywine, Frye played in 30 games this year for the regional power Golden Bears.

"We are ecstatic to have these five players join us and look forward to their arrival in September", stated Coach Harvey.  She added, "These five will fit in nicely with our returning players, and finally give the squad depth at all positions.  Each should challenge for significant playing time, and it should make for some very competitive softball here at Wilmington College."
