Harvey Promoted to Head Softball Coach at Wilmington College

NEW CASTLE, DE – Wilmington College Director of Athletics, Frank Aiello, announced that Erin Harvey has been promoted to Head Coach of the softball program.

Harvey started the 2007 season as Interim Head Coach, and with the help of top assistant coach Eric Zebley, along with other assistants Dana Travis and Melissa Zebley, turned around a team that went just 9-31 in 2006.

Harvey and her staff have led the Wildcats to a 29-13 overall record, including a 16-6 mark in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.  The most-improved team in the CACC in 2007, Wilmington enters the upcoming CACC Tournament as the number three seed, and finished just one game out of first place.

"Erin and her staff have done a wonderful job in a short period of time, and the administration felt that the promotion was well earned," Aiello said. "She has shown a great deal of dedication and commitment to not only the softball team, but to the College as well.  I am confident that she will keep this program among the top teams in the Conference."

A graduate of Wilmington College, Harvey spent five years as an assistant coach with the Wildcats, including four as atop assistant.  She also is the Sports Information Director at the College.
