Wilmington Adds Two More to Recruiting Class

Wilmington University Softball Coach Erin Harvey and her staff are pleased to announce that Meghan Logullo (Caravel Academy/Middletown, DE) and Kayla Carrow (Smyrna HS/Smyrna, DE) have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their softball careers at Wilmington University during the 2010-2011 season.

Logullo, an outfielder from Middletown, Delaware, is a four-year player for the state powerhouse Buccaneers of Caravel Academy.  She has also played travel ball for the Midway Orange Crush organization.

Carrow, an infielder from Smyrna, Delaware, is a four-year player for the Eagles of Smyrna High School.  An All-Henlopen Conference selection, she has manned the hot corner for the Eagles.  Kayla also plays travel ball for the Severna Park (MD) Green Hornets organization.

"We are ecstatic to have Meghan and Kayla join us and look forward to their arrival next fall", stated Coach Harvey.   "They will fit in nicely with our returning players, and each brings something different to the table."

Logullo and Carrow join a Wildcat squad that finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 20-24-1 (12-14 in the CACC).

"Meghan is a true outfielder, and that is something we have been looking for.  She can play all three outfield positions and judges the ball extremely well.  Meghan is a contact hitter and comes to us with a very solid fundamental set after playing for one of the best high school programs in the state.  Kayla brings a great deal of versatility to our lineup, as she has the ability to play multiple positions, including both the infield and the outfield.  Kayla's game is multi-faceted and she can help us in so many ways, both offensively and defensively."

"Both girls should challenge for significant playing time, and it will make for some very competitive softball here at Wilmington.  I look forward to the impact Meghan and Kayla will have on the program, as we expect them to make an immediate contribution. "

Wilmington University is an NCAA Division II institution located in New Castle, Delaware, that competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.  The Conference is comprised of 14 schools throughout Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut.
