LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - A quartet of student-athletes heard their names called at the annual Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference softball banquet on Wednesday night at Georgian Court University, led by Katie Warrington who was named the CACC Pitcher of the Year for the second time in her career.

Warrington, who was also named First Team All-CACC for the third year in a row, led a group of two other seniors and a freshman who accepted awards on Wednesday night. Freshman Brook Ash was named to the First Team All-CACC outfield while senior Christin Headley was a Second Team All-CACC honoree at shortstop and senior Jillian Stafford earned Second Team All-CACC as a utility player.

The right-handed pitcher was also the 2011 CACC Pitcher of the Year in her first season as a Wildcat. Warrington led the CACC throughout the regular season with a 0.90 earned run average, striking out a league high 216 batters. She went 16-4 in 21 appearances, throwing 15 complete games while being a part of 11 shutouts. She struck out 12.19 batters per seven innings, while only allowing 20 walks on the year.

Warrington struck out a season high 17 batters in two separate games this year, first against Felician in her third start of the season in Clermont, Fla., in a nonconference contest, and then again versus Nyack on Senior Day. She recorded double digit strikeouts in 13 contests this year, while also having a string of six appearances that spanned 38 innings without allowing an earned run.

Ash broke the Wilmington University single season hits record, tallying 78 so far, while also leading the CACC with a .453 batting average. She ended the regular season with a 22 game hitting streak, batting a season's best 7-for-8 in a doubleheader against Georgian Court. Ash collected four hits in a game twice while getting three hits in seven other games. She paced the Wildcats with 23 multiple hit games.

Headley anchored the third position in the lineup and the defense at short, earning her first All-CACC selection of her career. She hit a career best .333 on the year, finishing with a team second best 32 RBI's. Headley hit nine double with a team high four triples, smacking three home runs, while also stealing a team high 13 bases. She was also second on the team and seventh in the CACC with 37 runs scored.

Stafford set a new Wilmington University single season record for RBI's in a season, tallying a league's second best 50 at the end of the regular season. She hit a conference high 18 doubles on the season, finishing with a team's second best average of .381. Stafford finished with three triples and two home runs as well, finishing strong by hitting three doubles and nine RBI's while going 5-for-11 in the final three games. The senior also appeared in 14 games in the circle, making six starts and tossing 62 innings. She went 5-3 with a save, tossing a complete game one-hitter on senior day against Nyack.

Caldwell's Alysaa Calderon was named the CACC Player of the Year on a vote by the league's 14 head coaches after hitting .386 with 15 doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 38 RBI's and 33 runs scored. Dominican's freshman standout Kimberly Ragazzo earned the CACC Rookie of the Year after leading the CACC with 51 RBI's, 46 runs, 12 home runs, and a .703 slugging percentage. She also finished ninth with a .387 batting average. Ragazzo was a duel threat all season long, also going 9-5 with a 3.97 earned run average and 31 strikeouts in the circle.

After leading the Cougars to the top position in the East Region at one point during the season, Caldwell's Dean Johnson was named the CACC Coach of the Year. Nyack College was voted as the Team Sportsmanship Award winners at the banquet.

The CACC Tournament begins Thursday at Georgian Court with a pair of games starting off at 10 a.m. The third seeded Wildcats will square off against No. 6 Holy Family after the finish of game one around 12 p.m. The game will be on Field 1 at Georgian Court and will be accompanied by Live Stats and a Live Video feed.
