Women’s Basketball’s Mikala Casimer and Jonna Maddox Earn CACC Winter All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After the conclusion of the winter athletic seasons, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has announced its 2018-19 CACC Winter All-Academic Teams, with Wilmington University women's basketball earning two student-athletes on the list.

Women's basketball's Mikala Casimer and Jonna Maddox were the two representatives for the Wildcats after their dedication on the court and in the classroom this past winter season.

Junior guard Mikala Casimer earned the award for the second time in her career after posting a 3.63 grade point average. She is currently enrolled in the Computer & Network Security degree program at Wilmington University. Jonna Maddox earned the award for the first time as a Wildcat after earning a 3.83 GPA in the Criminal Justice degree program.

The CACC named a total of 54 student-athletes to the CACC All-Academic Team, after the conclusion of the men's and women's basketball campaigns. Women's basketball had 38 student-athletes on the All-Academic list across 13 schools, while the men had a total of 16, across 10 programs.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
