MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – A 10-point lead at halftime would help Millersville University to a 75-55 win over the Wilmington University women's basketball team Monday night in a nonconference matchup at Pucillo Gymnasium.

Wilmington (0-9) would get on the board first in the contest thanks to a layup from Jadyn Whitsitt, before a three-ball from Whitsitt gave the Wildcats a 7-4 lead with 6:11 left to play. The Marauders (3-4) would answer right back after a WilmU timeout, scoring four consecutive three pointers to go up 16-11 with 2:22 to go. Wilmington would answer with three points, before Millersville answered again with their fifth straight three, to take a 21-15 lead into the second quarter.

The Wildcats would come within five of the Marauders lead, as Emily Ansah got the turnaround jumper to make it 25-20 lead just two minutes in. Millersville would find the open three-point shooter once again, as they knocked down two consecutive threes, before a layup put their lead up to 33-20 over the Wildcats. WilmU would finish out the first half on an 8-5 run, as the Marauders took a 38-28 lead into halftime.

Millersville would come out in the new half scoring the first six points, forcing the Wildcats into a timeout. Wilmington would not find their first bucket until Jadyn Whitsitt made a free throw with 6:57 to go in the third. Millersville would stretch out their lead to 15, taking a 54-39 lead into the final quarter.

The Marauders would connect on 10 three pointers during the contest, shooting 47 percent from behind the arc, while having 19 turnovers to the Wildcats' 18.

Jadyn Whitsitt led the Wildcats with 17 points and nine rebounds. She would connect on 10 of 12 free throws in the contest. Emily Ansah finished with 14 points and nine rebounds (seven offensive). Kiara Eubanks added nine points.
