Third Year Head Coach Jeff Zoyac Announces 2017 Wilmington Women’s Soccer Recruiting Class

NEWARK, Del. - - With the his second chance to gather a group of players, third year Wilmington University women's soccer head coach Jeff Zoyac signed seven student-athletes to the program, making up the 2017 recruiting class.

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome this class of players to Wilmington University," Zoyac said. "It's rewarding to see this class come together and I believe that this class has the ability to impact the program right away, as they are an athletic group that cover all positions of the field. I can't wait for them to arrive in August. A lot of credit goes to Assistant Coaches Derek Buckley and Don Palmucci for bringing in this outstanding class."

The class consists of four incoming freshmen, two college transfers, and one junior college transfer. Position wise, the class features two outside backs, two midfielders, two forwards, and a goalkeeper, according to the position in which they played last season.

Below is a short synopsis of each individual of the 2017 recruiting class, in alphabetical order:

Daryan Fennal: Three-year varsity letterwinner at Delsea Regional High School. Her high school team won the Tri-County Conference three years in a row, she and her teammates also played in state games as well. She received All-state recognition, received the most votes for All-Conference, and she participated in the Tri-County and South Jersey All Star games. Her club teams had state, regional, and national rankings. Lastly, she wants people to know that she is not just an athlete, she is a student athlete. She has been in the advanced placement and honor program since her freshman year. She is very active at Delsea Regional, as she is in club Interact, National honor society, the varsity boys basketball manager, and she plays music for the varsity football games.

Alexis Johnson: Four-year letterwinner at Burlington Township High School. She received all County honors and was a member of the club team NJ Rush.

Alex Keck: Received 12 Varsity letters and was senior year captain at Cinnaminson High School. Helped lead the team to be the 2016 Liberty Division champs as the team's midfielder. She was a member of the Mount Laurel United Flash which was wildly successful. While Alex was on the Flash, they were Region one 2016 champions, they were two time regional champs, club national finalists, NJYS state finalists, and  one time State champs. They also have a USFA national bid 2017.

Krysta Memis: She was a member of major contributor of many athletic teams at Wissahickon High school. In her Freshman year she ran spring outdoor track along with playing varsity soccer as a starter and winning third team all suburban one league. Her sophomore year she ran varsity indoor track and soccer. She was first team All Suburban One League and set a scoring record with 22 goals in a single season. In her Junior season she won First Team All-League in soccer and played Varsity tennis in her senior season. She was an Olympic Development Player 2012-2015 and was a starter for three of those years. She has scored two international goals and has traveled to the Netherland and Germany for games.

Destinee Morris: Won four varsity letters , was an All-State honorable mention as a senior, was the offensive player of the year and MVP in her junior and senior seasons for La Plata High School. She is a transfer from UMBC where she played 36 games, had 43 shots on goal, five goals, and two assists in her career. In her freshman year at UMBC she registered a team high of four shots in season opener, in her junior season she fished the season third on the team in shots. She majored in media and communications studies.

Preslie Quarante: Four-year letterwinner and three-year varsity starter. Played freshman campaign at Mercy High School, earning Freshman All-Baltimore City First Team honors and an All-Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland First Team selection. Transferred to Perry Hall High School as a sophomore, leading the team in goals (eight) and assists (15). Led the Gators in scoring as a junior with 20 goals and eight assists, earning her All-State and Baltimore Sun All-Metro honors. Two-time All-Baltimore County selection (2009-10). Missed senior season due to injury. UMBC transfer, her sister Jenna, who competed with the UMBC in 2008, played soccer at Wilmington University. She played in 30 games in her career with UMBC and logged 16 shots and four goals. Majoring in psychology.

Katlynne Tubo: First team all and league champs in 2013 and 2014 at Wilson High school. Captain in her senior year. She is a transfer from Genesee Community College where she received numerous accolades. In 2015 she received first team All-Conference, and her team made it to regional semifinals. In 2016 she received first team All-Conference, second team all region, first team all region, second team All-American. Her team once again made it to the regional semi-finals in 2016 when she was the captain.
