Wildcats Roll in CACC Tri-Match Action; Clinch Third Consecutive CACC Regular Season Title

New Castle, DE - Wilmington College swept Teikyo Post University and Georgian Court University in CACC volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Pratt Gymnasium.

The Wildcats squared off against the Eagles of Teikyo Post University in the 1:00 match, and came away with a 3-0 victory.  Wilmington cruised in the first two games and won by scores of 30-16 and 30-20.  The Eagles battled back and took the third game 30-25, but the Wildcats pulled together in the fourth game to come out on top 30-21.

Wilmington was led by Kristin Wiedeman who had 15 kills and 26 digs.  Lindsay Miller chipped in with 8 kills and 14 digs, while Angie Estep posted 42 assists and 7 digs in the win.  Teikyo Post was led by Tadj Williams who had 21 kills and Jennifer Giarrantano who recorded 21 kills and 17 digs.  Courtney McGinnis had 48 assists in the loss.

The Wildcats faced the Lions of Georgian Court University in the 5:00 match and came away with the 3-0 victory, for their 56th consecutive conference win.  Wilmington won by scores of 30-17, 30-10, and 30-17. 

Kristin Wiedeman again paced Wilmington and recorded 11 kills and 11 digs for her second double-double of the day.  Angie Estep chipped in with 29 assists, while Sarah Booth posted 9 kills.  Lindsay Miller was strong again, recording 8 kills and 9 digs.  The Lions were led by Sherry Keech who had 9 kills and Anna Leighty who recorded 15 digs. 

The in-between match saw the Eagles and Lions square off.  Teikyo Post came away with the 3-0 win, with scores of 30-22, 30-23, and 30-13.  The Eagles were led by Tadj Williams who posted 11 kills and Jen Jay who recorded 16 digs.  Courtney McGinnis had 20 assists in the victory.  The Lions were led by Sherry Keech who posted 10 kills.

Wilmington improved to 18-0 in the CACC and assured themselves of their third consecutive CACC regular-season title.  The Wildcats now stand at 23-7 overall.  Wilmington returns to action on Wednesday, November 3rd when they travel to take on the Golden Bears of Kutztown University in non-conference action.
