CACC Volleyball Semifinal Field Set, Site Changed to Wilmington University

NEWARK, Del. - - Due to the effects from Hurricane Sandy, Wilmington University will now host the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Tournament for the semifinals on Friday, November 9 and the championship on Saturday, November 10 at the WU Athletics Complex.

Wilmington, the South Division's No. 1 seed, advanced to the CACC Semifinal with a 3-0 win over the North Division's No. 4 seed, Post University, on Tuesday.

The South's No. 2 seed, Philadelphia, blanked North No. 3 Nyack, 3-0, while North No. 1 Dominican also won in straight sets over South No. 4 USciences on Tuesday night. The final quarterfinal match was the lone upset of the night, as South No. 3 Georgian Court defeated North No. 2 Caldwell, 3-1.

The first semifinal match will take place at 5:30 p.m. between Dominican and Philadelphia, followed by Wilmington and Georgian Court squaring off at 7:30 p.m. at the WU Athletics Center. The winners will square off on Saturday for the championship at 1 p.m.

Prior to the semifinal action, the four teams will gather in the Auditorium of the Doberstein Admission Center at the New Castle Campus for the annual CACC Volleyball Banquet. The All-Conference Teams and the major award winners will be presented at the banquet which starts at 1:30 p.m.

Admission will be charged for all Conference Tournament games, including first round contests. Fee will be $6 for adults, $3 for children, senior citizens and students with ID. Children under the age of 3 will be admitted for free.
