Frank Hall and Allison Briley Earn CACC Weekly Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Wildcats of the Week Frank Hall and Allison Briley can add another distinction to their resume for their play last week, as both were named on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Reports for their respective sports.

Wilmington men's soccer goalkeeper, Hall (Newark, Del./Newark) was named one of the CACC's Co-Defensive Players of the Week while Briley (Monroeville, Pa/Gateway) was named a Co-Player of the Week for volleyball.

Hall led the men's soccer team to a 2-0 week, remaining unbeaten in the CACC with a pair of shutouts. He recorded two saves in a 1-0 shutout at Holy Family on Tuesday before posting three stops in a 2-0 win at Concordia on Saturday. The senior now has three shutouts on the year and is 6-0 in goal for the Wildcats. He currently leads the CACC with the fewest goals against (5) and wins (6), while he is also second in goals-against average (0.91) and shutouts (3).

Briley led the Wildcats both offensively and defensively in their two matches last week, putting down a total of 35 kills and picking up a total of 35 digs. In her first match of the week, the junior outside hitter posted the program's fourth ever "20-20" match in its NCAA era, leading the team with 20 kills and 22 digs at Chestnut Hill. It was the first such performance since the 2005 season when Kristin Wiedeman posted the feat in three matches. She followed that up with 15 kills and 13 digs at Post on Saturday. Briley hit .275 on 91 attempts for the week.

Hall was named CACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week with Post's goalkeeper Jon Hanlon who also posted a pair of shutouts last week for the Eagles.

Briley was named CACC Co-Player of the Week with Chestnut Hill's Rachel Biro who led the Griffins to a 2-1 record with one of the wins coming over the Wildcats.

Volleyball's freshman setter Miranda Shaw was named to the CACC Honor Roll to round out the Wildcats in the CACC Weekly Reports.
