Shelby Henderson, Miranda Shaw, and Kierstyn Williams Earn CACC Player of the Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - An undefeated week for the Wilmington University volleyball and women's soccer teams led to a trio of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Volleyball's senior libero Shelby Henderson was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week while freshman setter Miranda Shaw was named the CACC Rookie of the Week. Women's Soccer's Kierstyn Williams was also named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week.

Henderson (Wilmington, Del./Padua) led the Wildcats to a perfect 3-0 record last week, leading the back row with 83 digs on the week. Her week started with 23 digs in a sweep at Holy Family, before the Wildcats came home and swept Georgian Court on Thursday. She tallied 31 digs in the three sets, the second most in program history for a three-set match. The senior came back and added 29 digs in a 3-2 victory over Bloomfield on Homecoming. Her 7.55 digs per set raised her season average to 4.53 on the season, fifth most in the CACC.

Shaw (Boston, Va./Highland) paced the offense in the undefeated week, dishing out 93 assists in the 11 sets. She collected a double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs at Holy Family before dishing out 26 more assists against Georgian Court. On Saturday, she passed out 41 assists in the five-set victory, adding another double-double with 15 digs. Shaw also totaled six kills and four aces on the week. Her 8.45 assists per set on the week raised her average to 7.98 on the year, third best in the CACC.

Williams (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) led the women's soccer team to a 2-0 week, posting back-to-back shutouts at Chestnut Hill and against Caldwell. The sophomore goalkeeper made four saves at Chestnut Hill on Tuesday to preserve 1 -0 shutout before making five more saves in another 1-0 victory against Caldwell on Homecoming. Williams now boasts a 1.63 goals-against average on the season, making 42 saves.

Volleyball's Alex Siolos and men's soccer Clifford Nwechefom were named to the Weekly Honor Roll, in helping their teams to undefeated week's as well.
