NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of Wilmington University volleyball outside hitters have been selected to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District I Volleyball Team in recognition for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Senior Kaitlin DiGiacinto and junior Allison Briley each earned a spot on the seven-person team, being chosen by the East Region's sports information directors in each of the three conferences.

Briley (Monroeville, Pa.) is only one of two juniors on the list, as she is carrying a 3.95 grade point average while studying Business Management. On the court, Briley is second on the team in averaging 2.88 kills, 3.53 digs, and 3.26 points per set. When playing against CACC opponents, Briley is eighth in the conference in averaging 3.21 kills per set.

The junior collected a career best 20 kills this season in part of a 20-20 game, picking up 22 digs at Chestnut Hill on September 23. It is only the second time in program history someone collected a 20-20 match. Briley also has 12 double-doubles on the season, including each of the past three matches this season.

DiGiacinto (Glen Burnie, Md.) earned a spot on the team by boasting a 3.90 grade point average while studying Behavioral Science at Wilmington University. On the court, DiGiacinto is the program's all-time leader in points and kills while also breaking the 1,000-mark plateau in digs. This season, she is third on the team in averaging 2.24 kills, 3.30 digs, and 2.68 points per set.

The senior collected a season's best 16 kills against Kutztown on October 13 while adding a season's best 23 digs against Bloomfield on October 3. She has tallied five double-doubles this year as well, with the last coming on October 29 when she collected 10 kills and 10 digs against Holy Family.
