Five Wildcats Selected to All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Five Wilmington University volleyball players were named All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as voted on by the league's 14 head coaches on Monday leading up to the CACC Tournament.

The Wildcats (22-9, 15-4 CACC) earned the most players of all the conference institutions across the three All-CACC teams, garnering three Second Team All-CACC and two Third Team All-CACC honorees.

Sophomore middle hitter Erin Bistany, junior outside hitter Allison Briley, and freshman setter Miranda Shaw were all named All-CACC Second Team while senior libero Shelby Henderson and senior right side Alex Siolos earned a spot on as an All-CACC Third Team member.

Bistany (Greenbelt, Md.) leads all the Wildcat hitters with a .233 attack percentage on the season while ranking fifth in the CACC in averaging 1.01 blocks per game. Despite missing eight conference games in the middle of the season, Bistany ranks eighth in the conference with 19 solo blocks while picking up 82 total. She had a season high 13 kills at Millersville and collected a season high nine blocks against Le Moyne. Bistany was the CACC Rookie of the Year and earned First Team All-CACC honors a season ago.

Briley (Monroeville, Pa.) recently became the first junior in program history to reach the 1,000-career kill plateau and is second on the team with 322 kills this season. She is averaging 2.88 kills, 3.50 digs, and 3.29 points per set this season. She became only the second player in program history to record a 20-20, doing so at Chestnut Hill with 20 kills and 22 digs. The 20 kills are a season high while she added a season high 24 digs against Kutztown. Her .211 attack percentage ranks 19th in the CACC. Briley was also an All-CACC Second Team honoree a season ago.

Shaw (Boston, Va.) paced the Wildcat offense to picking up 11.81 kills per set as a team this season. She has dished out 918 assists this year, ranking third in the conference. She ranks fourth in the CACC in passing out 8.12 assists per set while adding 2.14 digs, and 0.27 aces per set as well. She has a season high of 47 assists in four sets twice this season against Kutztown while dishing out 37 in a three set match at Caldwell. Shaw has 10 double-double this season with a season high 18 digs at USciences.

Henderson (Wilmington, Del.) leads the team that leads the conference in digs, as she has 505 of the team's 2,172 digs this year. She ranks fifth in the conference in total digs while ranking sixth in averaging 4.47 digs per set. She has double digit digs in 25 matches this season, including 10 matches with 20 or more digs. Her season high of 31 digs came against Georgian Court on October 1. She is the program's all-time leader in digs with 1,919.

Siolos (East Moriches, N.Y.) leads the team with 336 kills, 57 aces, and 444.5 points this season. She is also second on the team with 91 blocks and fourth on the team with 326 digs. Her 57 aces leads the CACC while she is averaging 0.50 aces per set. She is also 10th in the CACC in averaging 0.81 blocks per set as a right side hitter. She is fourth in the CACC in averaging 3.93 points per set on the season. She set a season high of 18 kills in three separate matches while adding a season high 23 digs against Holy Family. Her seven aces against Kutztown is also a season high. Siolos is the only player in program history to record over 1,000 career kills, 1,000 career digs, and 2,000 career assists.

Post took home two of the major awards as Skylar German was named the CACC Player of the Year for the second year in row while freshman setter Brianna Root was named the CACC Rookie of the Year. Chestnut Hill's libero Regina Trabosh was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year while Philadelphia head coach Tim Moyer was named the BSN Sports/CACC Coach of the Year. Nyack College was earned the 2015 Team Sportsmanship Award.

The Wildcats host a CACC Tournament Quarterfinal match on Tuesday as they earned the second seed out of the CACC South Division. They host the North Division's third seed Caldwell at the WU Athletics Complex starting at 7:00 p.m.
