Wilmington Softball and Adelphi Halted at 1-1 after 12 innings Due to Darkness

The Wilmington University softball team and Adelphi couldn’t come up with a winner after 12 innings to start the NCAA Division II East Region 1 Tournament, as the game was halted due to darkness on Friday night.

Tied 1-1, the game will resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and play until there is a winner.

The Wildcats collected an RBI double to left center by Colby Wyatt in the top of the second but the Panthers responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Wildcats have left 10 runners on base as compared to the Panthers’ leaving eight runners on.

Both starters Chelsea Botsch and Lindsay Mapes went all 12 innings in the circle for their respective teams.
