NEW CASTLE, DE -- Wilmington University is pleased to announce that Lindsay Watson (Sussex Central HS/Georgetown, DE) and Amanda Cordrey (Sussex Central HS/Millsboro, DE) have earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) softball honors for their performances this past season.

Watson, a junior third baseman, was a First Team All-CACC selection.  A second team selection in 2008, she led the Wildcats in hitting (.419), hits (62), runs (42), home runs (5), doubles (20), total bases (99), slugging percentage (.669), and on-base percentage (.460).  She ranks among the CACC leaders in average, hits, home runs, runs, doubles, total bases, slugging and on-base percentages.  Watson collected 14 multi-hit games and is ranked in the top 10 in Division II in doubles per game.  She made just six errors all season, and had a fielding percentage of .955.

Cordrey, a sophomore designated player, earned Second Team All-CACC honors.  A transfer from Wheeling Jesuit University, she made an immediate impact on the Wildcat offense.  Cordrey leads the team in RBI (30), and is second on the team in hitting (.393), hits (48), doubles (12), and on-base percentage (.437), and is third in slugging percentage (.533).  She collected 13 multi-hit games and had eight multi-RBI games.

This duo helped the Wildcats to a 13-11 mark in the CACC and an overall record of 22-22.  Wilmington qualified for the conference tournament for the third consecutive season, and the seventh seeded Wildcats begin play on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM when they take on the second-seeded Cougars of Caldwell College.  The double-elimination, eight-team tournament, held at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey, runs from Thursday through Saturday, and the winner receives an automatic berth to the East Regional tournament.
