Lindsay Watson and Amanda Cordrey Earn Daktronics Softball All-Northeast Region Honors

Wilmington University is pleased to announce that Lindsay Watson (Sussex Central HS/Georgetown, DE) and Amanda Cordrey (Sussex Central HS/Millsboro, DE) have been named to the Daktronics Softball All-Northeast Region Second Team for their performances this season. The team is voted upon by the region's Division II sports information directors. Daktronics is a world leader in programmable electronic signs, electronic and digital displays and scoreboards.

Watson, a junior third baseman, was a First Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) selection. She led the Wildcats in hitting (.405), hits (62), runs (43), home runs (5), doubles (20), total bases (99), slugging percentage (.647), and on-base percentage (.449). She ranks among the CACC leaders in average, hits, home runs, runs, doubles, total bases, slugging and on-base percentages. Watson collected 14 multi-hit games and is ranked in the top 10 in Division II in doubles per game.  She made just six errors all season, and had a fielding percentage of .955.

Cordrey, a sophomore designated player, earned Second Team All-CACC honors. A transfer from Wheeling Jesuit University, she made an immediate impact on the Wildcat offense. Cordrey led the team in RBI (31), and is second on the team in hitting (.391), hits (50), doubles (13), on-base percentage (.433), and slugging percentage (.555). She collected 13 multi-hit games and had eight multi-RBI games.

This duo helped the Wildcats to a 13-11 mark in the CACC and an overall record of 22-24. Wilmington qualified for the conference tournament for the third consecutive season.
