Carolece Henry Named Inaugural CACC Women’s Bowling Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference released its inaugural Women's Bowling Weekly Report on Thursday and Wilmington University freshman Carolece Henry was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.

This is the first year that the CACC is sponsoring women's bowling as a sport and hosting a championship in March and following the first weekend of competition, the Wildcats are well represented on the Weekly Report.

Carolece Henry (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional) helped lead the Wildcats to the Bud Whitman Memorial Championship last week, going a perfect 5-0 on Sunday in Baker matches, including a 4-2 victory over Molloy in the title match.

On Saturday, Henry led the Wildcats in traditional matches, finishing 15th out of 65 scoring bowlers with a 914 five-match total. She bowled two games over 200 on Saturday, including a team best 211 against Pitt-Greensburg. She also had a 204 in the final match of the day against Chestnut Hill while finishing with a 182.80 average.

She was the Anchor bowler in all of the Baker matches on Sunday, finishing the tournament with a 19.65 Baker frame average. She had an average first ball score of 9.00 while completing 25 strikes on the day. She had a 48.1 percent strike percentage in Baker matches.

Chestnut Hill's Maddie Gannon finished 13th in the individual standings at the Bud Whitman Memorial to claim the inaugural CACC Bowler of the Week award.

The Wildcats take this weekend off and return to action Saturday, October 22 when they compete in the Golden Bear Classic. The two-day event hosted by Kutztown will be played at Berks Lane in Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania.
