Loran Wyrough and Alex Siolos Earn CACC Player of the Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Two Wilmington University Wildcats are being featured by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as both Loran Wyrough and Alex Siolos were named Players of the Week in their respective sports on Tuesday.

The accolades continue a stretch for the Wildcats' fall teams, producing at least one major weekly award winner for every week of the season so far. Wyrough led her women's soccer team to a 2-0 week to earn back-to-back CACC Player of the Week honors while Siolos guided her volleyball team to a perfect 2-0 week as well.

Wyrough's week started with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday. The sophomore then scored twice, including the game-winner, and added another assist in a 4-0 victory over Dominican on Saturday. She now has 16 goals on the year, taking over the CACC lead through the end of the week. Her 36 points is also tied atop the CACC leaderboards.

It is also the second time this year Siolos has been named the CACC Player of the Week, earning the honor on September 8. This past week, the senior led the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory over USciences and a 3-0 sweep at Caldwell. She collected 10 kills and nine digs against the Devils before adding 14 kills and eight digs at Caldwell. She hit .448 against the Cougars, committing only one error on 29 swings for the match. She also collected five assists, two aces, and three solo blocks against the Devils on Wednesday.

Volleyball's Miranda Shaw was also mentioned in this week's weekly reports, earning a spot on the Honor Roll after dishing out 10.43 assists per set.
