Brittany Biddle Earns CACC’s Top XIV Award For Academic Excellence at CACC Volleyball Banquet

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - In a new award at all its 14 sponsored championships, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference presented Wilmington University volleyball middle hitter Brittany Biddle with the Top-XIV Award for academic excellence among the teams that reached the CACC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday night at the volleyball banquet.

The award mirrors the NCAA Elite 89 award in which the top student-athlete, with the student aspect honored, among the final four teams left in the NCAA Tournament is recognized for their achievement in the classroom.

Biddle (Claymont, Del./Concord), who also received First Team All-CACC accolades during the banquet hosted by Georgian Court, stood out amongst the four teams in attendance with a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a senior. She is nearing her completion of her Elementary Education: K-6 degree now in her fourth year at Wilmington University.

The banquet was held in the Mansion on the campus of Georgian Court University on the eve of the 2013 CACC Semifinal round starting on Friday.

Wilmington earned the South Division's No. 1 seed after a 17-2 CACC regular season record and moved onto the semifinals with a 3-0 win over Felician in the quarters on Tuesday. The Wildcats now play host and the South Division's No. 3 seed Georgian Court on Friday starting at 1 p.m.
