Holliday Named To Daktronics All-East Region Baseball First Team

New Castle, DE - Wilmington University is pleased to announce that Cody Holliday (Havre de Graces HS/Havre de Grace, MD) has been named to the Daktronics Baseball All-Northeast Region First Team for his performance this season. The team is voted upon by the region's Division II sports information directors. Daktronics is a world leader in programmable electronic signs, electronic and digital displays and scoreboards.

Holliday, a senior outfielder, was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference selection. This season he led the Wildcats in hitting (.362), hits (72), doubles (17), home runs (7), RBI (52), total bases (116), slugging percentage (.583), on-base percentage (.451), and stolen bases (15). Holliday led the conference in hits, RBI, doubles, and total bases, while ranking second in runs and third in home runs.

His efforts this season helped lead Wilmington (27-27/15-12 CACC) to the CACC championship, as his Wildcats upset the region's top seed, Dominican College, 5-4 in the title game.  With the win, Wilmington earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA East Regional Tournament, held later this week at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire.
