Five Wildcats Garner Daktronics All-East Region Baseball Honors

NEW CASTLE, DE -- Wilmington University is pleased to announce that Joe Harris (Daniel Boone HS/Douglassville, PA), Mike Godwin (A.I. DuPont HS/Hockessin, DE), Bryan Miller (Gateway Regional HS/Westville, NJ), Bryan Short (Pope Paul VI HS/Ashburn, VA), and JT Gregory (Gar-Field HS/Woodbridge, VA), have earned NCAA Daktronics  All-East Region Honors for their performance this past season.  The voting was powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM and conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate, East Coast and Northeast 10 Conferences.

Godwin, Harris, and Short were all first-team selections, while Miller and Gregory earned second-team accolades. 

Harris, a junior left-handed pitcher, was the CACC Pitcher of the Year, after posting a 6-2 record with a 2.09 ERA.  A first-team All-CACC selection, he led the conference in strikeouts, and finished third in earned run average. 

Godwin and Short were also First-Team All-CACC selections.  Godwin, a sophomore catcher, led the team in runs scored, RBI, doubles, home runs, while hitting at a .329 clip.  Short, a senior utility player, led the team in stolen bases (23).  He was second on the squad in hitting (.349), and was seventh in the conference in hitting.

Miller and Gregory also earned First-Team All-Conference accolades this season.  Miller, a junior designated hitter, led the team in doubles, while finishing third on the team in hitting (.339).  Gregory, a senior relief pitcher, led the CACC in saves (9), while sporting a 1-1 record with a 2.45 ERA.

These five Wildcats helped lead the Wildcats to the regular season CACC Championship, with a conference record of 16-4 and an overall mark of 29-18.
