Baseball Ranked No. 5 in NCBWA East Region Poll as 2021 Schedule Begins

NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University baseball team will begin the 2021 season on Tuesday ranked No. 5 in the first National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll.

The Wildcats moved up one spot from the No. 6 ranking they held since the preseason poll in late February.

The Wildcats are no strangers to the NCBWA Regional Poll, as they have held a strong stance in the voter's minds since 2011. They are the two-time defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Champions, and have been a part of the NCAA East Regional Tournament in seven seasons since 2011 (2011-15, 2018-19).

The 2021 version of the Wildcats begins on Tuesday when they welcome USciences to Wilson Field for a single 9-inning game to start CACC play. The first pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.

Spectators are prohibited to attend, but can follow all the action with live stats, stream, and social media. Please visit the team's schedule page for links: https://wildcats.athletics.wilmu.edu/sports/bsb/2020-21/schedule
