Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 4 in Initial United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings

NEWARK, Del. - - The first weekly Regional Rankings presented by the United Soccer Coaches have been announced and the Wilmington University men's soccer team is right back into the thick of things, being ranked No. 4 on Tuesday.

During its opening weekend of play, the Wildcats defeated Adelphi, 2-1, and tied American International, 2-2, at AIC's Abdow Field. American International also tied Post over weekend, earning a spot at No. 8 after the first weekend of play.

Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams are in the initial regional rankings, led by Post at No. 3. The Wildcats come in at No. 4, followed by Caldwell at No. 5. Caldwell defeated Assumption and Bentley in its opening weekend of play.

The Wildcats travel to West Chester on Wednesday in a matchup of regional ranked teams, as West Chester is also ranked No. 4 in the Atlantic Region. The Golden Rams defeated a pair of CACC members in Jefferson and Holy Family this past weekend.

The game has been moved to a 4:45 p.m. start to counteract the heat wave in the Mid-Atlantic. The game will be played at West Chester's Rockwell Field.
