NEWARK, Del. - - After not being one of the 12 teams under consideration in the first week of the NCAA Super Region 1 Rankings, the Wilmington University men's soccer team appeared at No. 10 in this week's poll, continuing its great end of season play into the final week of the regular season.

Since a 2-1 loss on the road at Jefferson on September 27, which put the Wildcats at 1-4-2, Wilmington has gone 7-1-2 to head into the postseason with an 8-5-4 overall record.

The Wildcats are one of three teams listed in the Super Region 1 Poll this week, joined by Post at No. 6 and Felician at No. 11. Ten (10) teams will eventually be named to the Super Region 1 Tournament during the selection show on November 13, with five automatic qualifications and five at-large bids.

The Super Region 1 Poll features three of the top five teams and four of the top 10 teams in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Poll. Franklin Pierce is the consensus No. 1 team in the country while Charleston is ranked third and Gannon is ranked fifth. Post is in the Top 10 at No. 9 this week as well. According to the coaches, the Wildcats are the fifth ranked team in the East Region in the latest United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll.

This week, the Wildcats defeated Goldey-Beacom, 4-2, on Wednesday, and now head into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed. They will host No. 5 Jefferson on Monday at the WU Athletics Complex starting at 1:00 p.m. with a trip to the CACC Tournament Semifinals on the line.
