East Region #2 Tournament Central Page
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University softball team's season isn't over as they were selected to participate in the NCAA Division East Region #2 bracket on Monday morning during the NCAA Selection Show.
The Wildcats (34-18) will be the No. 3 seed and face No. 6 Franklin Pierce (29-10) in the first round of the double-elimination tournament hosted by Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Host Georgian Court will represent the No. 2 seed in the four-team bracket and the Lions will play No. 7 Bridgeport, winners of the East Coast Conference Tournament Championship. The tournament begins Thursday, May 12 with the first game of the day starting at 11:00 a.m.
All games will feature live stats and a live stream. The links will be featured on a Tournament Central Page that will be released by Georgian Court later today.
In the other half of the East Region Bracket, No. 1 Adelphi will serve as the host and will first play No. 8 Pace. Fourth seeded Caldwell will face-off against No. 5 seed St. Anselm to round out the eight teams in the East Region.
The winner of each four-team bracket will square off next weekend in a best-of-three Super Regional for the right to advance to the NCAA DII Softball National Tournament.
