NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington University Director of Athletics Linda Van Drie-Andrzjewski has announced the hiring of Rob Miller as the next women's basketball head coach.

"We are very excited to welcome Rob back as our women's basketball coach," Andrzjewski said. "With Rob's knowledge of Wilmington University, the talented core of players returning, and the new recruits coming in, I have no doubt that Rob will find success."

Miller takes over the Wildcats program after the team went 14-14 overall last year, narrowly missing the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. Miller returns to the Wildcats' bench for the second time in his career, also coaching the Wildcats during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

Most recently, Miller coached at the Jacob Tome School in Northeast, Maryland from 2010 to 2012. He led the girls' program to an overall record of 35-19, including winning the 2012 conference championship. Miller coached five players to All-Conference status, including two girls being named All-County.

While at the helm for the Wildcats, Miller led the team to its only appearance in the CACC Tournament Championship game during the 2008-09 season. The team went 18-12 overall that year, defeating a Holy Family team in the CACC Quarterfinals that was 65-0 prior to against conference opponents. Miller and the Wildcats went 15-13 in his second season in 2009-10.

"I feel that things have come full circle for me in being afforded the opportunity to coach at Wilmington again," Miller said. "I had hoped that the opportunity would come along one day. My love of coaching and the game is what has brought me back to the bench. Wilmington's athletes have always been held to a higher standard, and I'm excited to be a part of it all. I am looking forward to helping the program be the best it can be."

Prior to coming to Wilmington, Miller worked as an Assistant Athletic Director, men's basketball Associate Head Coach, women's basketball interim head coach, and the women's soccer head coach at Goldey-Beacom College from 2004 to 2007. He also spent three seasons on the bench at Immaculata University as a women's basketball assistant coach from 2000 to 2004.

Miller is currently the Senior Director of Recruiting at Wilmington University, a position he has held since 2009. After receiving his associate's degree at Delaware Technical & Community College, Miller earned his bachelor's in sports management and his master's in administration of justice from Wilmington University.
