Women’s Bowling Ranked in Latest National and DII/DIII Tenpin Coaches Association Polls

NEWARK, Del. – The Wilmington University women's bowling team has been ranked No. 24 in The National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll for the month of February, along with notching the No. 7 spot in The National Tenpin Coaches Association DII/DIII February Poll.

The results of the Polls are based on how well teams have done prior to January 26, 2020. The Wildcats were previously ranked in the No. 24 spot for the National Poll back in December, and now rank in the top 10 of all Division II and III schools across the country in the first regular season poll of the year.

Wilmington is one of eight East Coast Conference teams to make the DII/DIII Poll for February where they earned 172 total points, while being one of three ECC teams to rank in the Top 25 of the National Poll after finishing with a total of 60 points.

Wilmington played in their toughest matches of the season back in January where they faced off with eight ranked opponents at the Northeast Classic. They would finish the tournament 24th overall. In their latest tournament, WilmU finished second out of 10 teams at the Molloy Bowl for the Cure after going 6-3 throughout the two day tournament.

McKendree University tops both National and DII/DIII Polls with an overall record of 60-15 so far this year. Sam Houston State takes the second place spot, as the University of Nebraska rounds out the top three of the National Poll.

Wilmington will compete in two more tournaments throughout the month of February, including their next at the James Brown Invitational in Townson, Md., from Friday, February 14-16.
