BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - - The Wildcats scored a pair of quick goals that split the halftime break, but it wasn't enough as LIU Post stormed back from a two-goal deficit in the second half to beat the Wilmington University women's soccer team, 3-2, in overtime on Wednesday afternoon.

Kelly Robbins scored in the 41st minute on the team's first shot of the afternoon and Loran Wyrough quickly gave the Wildcats (4-2) a 2-0 lead with another goal just 42 seconds into the second half. But the Pioneers (4-2-1), ranked fourth in the latest NSCAA East Regional Poll, closed the gap with a goal in the 49th minute before tying the match in the 56th minute.

The Wildcats continued to pour shots on goal throughout the second half, but the Pioneers' net minder Hillevi Eklow recorded four saves to keep the Wildcats' bay. Teigha Ward had an opportunity in the 64th minute, but her shot sailed high. Ward had another chance in the 81st minute and put the ball on frame, but Eklow came up with the save to keep the score at 2-2.

Ashley Cafarella produced the final opportunity for the Wildcats in the 89th minute, but Eklow again came up with the save to keep the game tied. Wilmington goalkeeper Kierstyn Williams sent the game into the extra period with back-to-back saves at the doorstep in the final minute of play.

But it was all Pioneers in the extra session, as their first shot was saves just 1:51 into the overtime period. But Williams was unable to get to LIU Post's second shot a minute later, as Medina Mulic went top shelf from long range for the game-winner at the 92:57 minute mark.

Williams made a season high eight saves on Wednesday. The Wildcats were out shot, 21-7, for the match, but only 10-6 in the second half. LIU Post also earned more corners, 6-1, in the game.

The Wildcats return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action for their next contest, as they travel to Caldwell on Saturday. The women kick off a doubleheader on Caldwell's Homecoming Weekend at 11:00 a.m.
