BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - - Five goals in the second half propelled the Wilmington University men's soccer team to a 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road victory at Bridgeport on Saturday night at Knights Field.

With the win, the Wildcats secured a spot in the upcoming CACC Tournament with seedings to be decided with one game to play. Depending on all the outcomes in the final game of the regular season, the Wildcats could place anywhere from second to sixth. Caldwell, Wilmington, and Bridgeport are all locked in a tie for fourth place with 19 points following Saturday's action.

Theo Faillon got right back into the national spotlight by scoring a second half hat trick, upping his CACC lead to 20 goals on the season, two behind the national leaders.

Robert Seow scored the game's only goal of the first half, putting the Wildcats ahead, 1-0, in the 13th minute. Patrick Keys headed down a free kick back to Seow who scored his first goal of the year just 12:26 into the match.

The Wildcats led, 8-4, in first half shots, while also earning more corners, 3-0.

The second half was all Wilmington, outshooting the Purple Knight, 23-3, while finding the back of the net five times.

The scoring started with Theo Faillon's first goal of the night, converting his seventh penalty kick of the season following a hand ball in the box in the 57th minute for the 2-0 lead. Bridgeport got on the board with a long ball off a restart, cutting into the deficit, 2-1, in the 60th minute.

The high pressure of the Wildcats forced a turnover in the 74th minute. Jhamaleek Porter's initial shot was saved, but Lenny Greifenberg collected the rebound and found Faillon for an easy tap in goal for the 3-1 lead.

Not even four minutes later, the pressure off a goal-kick forced another turnover for the Wildcats and Mylan Le Baut fed a ball into the box form the right side. Theo Faillon headed it home for the hat trick, making it 4-1 in the 78th minute,

Pressure on a goal-kick resulted in another goal just 1:24 later, as Alex Tarway disrupted a pass in the box. He then passed it back to Diego Ramirez for the in-close goal in the 79th minute and the 5-1 lead.

Jhamaleek Porter finished the scoring in the 83rd minute, blasting one into the back of the net from the top of the 18-yard box for his sixth goal of the year.

The Wildcats' final four goals of the game all came within an 8:37 span.

Wilmington will host Goldey-Beacom for the regular season finale on Thursday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. Goldey-Beacom is playing for a spot into the postseason while the Wildcats are fighting for a home game. The opening whistle is set for 3:00 p.m.
