MANCHESTER, N.H. - - The 69th through the 72nd minute proved to be the deciding factor for the Wilmington University women's soccer team in a 4-1 non-conference loss to Saint Anslem Hawks on Wednesday afternoon.

The first half ended scoreless, and what turned out to be a defensive battle for the first 45 minutes. The Wildcats (0-2-1) had their chances in the first half with three shots (one on goal) and four corner-kick opportunities. Sophomore Kailynn Ortiz had a lone shot on goal for the Wildcats in the first half. Two of the corners came in the half's closing minutes in the 42nd and 43rd minutes.

The Wildcats opened the start of the second half with some offensive pressure. Wilmington saw two early chances from Samantha Emmi in the 49th minute and Jhanae Colston in the 53rd minute.

However, the Hawks (2-0-0) would strike first, as Reagan Meehan for Saint Anslem opened up the scoring in the 59th minute, putting the ball past Mio Nakajima. Nakajima finished the game with two saves.

The Wildcats answered back quickly with a goal in the 66th minute. Freshman Annie Holst connects on her first career goal as a Wildcat score off a set piece. Holst lost her defender in the box and located the ball, that was delivered by Isabella Lundberg; Holst took care of the rest and headed the ball into the back of the net.

The Hawks wasted no time answering Wilmington's equalizer by scoring three goals in the 69th, 70th, and 72nd minute, which put the game out of reach for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will travel back to Delaware for their next match at home versus Mercy University. The first whistle is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the WU Athletics Complex.
