Women’s Soccer Enters United Soccer Coaches Regional Polls at No. 9

NEWARK, Del. - - The second week of the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings have been announced and the Wilmington University women's soccer team enters the Poll at No. 9 after continuing its strong preseason start.

The Wildcats went 0-0-1 last week, playing to a 0-0 draw with regionally ranked Saint Anselm on Sunday. The Wildcats are now 1-1-1 overall, with a victory over regionally ranked No. 7 Adelphi to start the season.

Nationally No. 3 Saint Rose leads the East Region followed by Franklin Pierce and Southern New Hampshire. Mercy and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member Bridgeport round out the Top 5 while CACC foe Jefferson sits at No. 6. Adelphi is at No. 7 this week followed by Saint Anselm at No. 8. Wilmington and Queens round out this week's Top 10.

The Wildcats are back in action Wednesday afternoon when they welcome an always tough Molloy team to the WU Athletics Complex. The opening whistle is set for 4:00 p.m.
