Women’s Soccer Moves Up to No. 8 in Unites Soccer Coaches Regional Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - A win to start conference play helped push the Wilmington University women's soccer team up a spot to No. 8 in Week 3 of the United Soccer Coaches Women's Soccer East Region Poll.

The Wildcats went 1-0-1 last week and are now 2-1-2 overall. The Wildcats tied Molloy, 2-2, before going on the road and defeating Post, 4-2, last week.

The top of the East remains with Saint Rose, as they are now No. 3 in National Poll as well. Southern New Hampshire jumped Franklin Pierce for the No. 2 spot while Adelphi was the biggest mover of the week, jumping up three spots to No. 4.

Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe Jefferson moved up a spot to No. 5 this week while Saint Anselm moved up two spots to No. 6. Fellow CACC member Bridgeport dropped two spots to No. 7, sitting right in front of Wilmington who is at No. 8. Southern Connecticut State (No. 9) and Pace (No. 10) are both new to the weekly poll.

The Wildcats are off this weekend and return to action on Wednesday when they head to regionally ranked No. 5 Jefferson in a tough CACC road contest. The first whistle is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Ravenhill Field.
