Women’s Soccer Moves Up to No. 7 in United Soccer Coaches Week 6 Regional Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - Winners of three straight games, the Wilmington University women's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 7 in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll.

The Wildcats have defeated Bloomfield, Holy Family, and Dominican and are 4-1 overall in their last five games. They are now 5-2-2 overall, moving up a spot to No. 7 in this week's poll, switching places with Southern New Hampshire.

There are three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams in this week's poll, led by Jefferson at No. 3 in the East and entered in the National Poll at No. 25. Wilmington is at No. 7 and Bridgeport holds firm at No. 9 in this week's regional poll.

The East is led by Saint Rose, the No. 3 team in the country. Adelphi continues to be second in the East and No. 17 in the National Poll.

The Wildcats return to action today at St. Thomas Aquinas but then host Bridgeport in a regional matchup on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The home game against the Purple Knights is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. opening whistle.
