Women’s Soccer Among Nine Teams in Consideration in First NCAA Regional Rankings

NEWARK, Del. - - The first official NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional Rankings were announced on Wednesday and the Wilmington University women's soccer team is in consideration amongst the Top-9 teams in the region.

The first publicized NCAA Rankings are listed alphabetically and name the Top-9 teams in consideration. An ordered ranking will be released each Wednesday going forward leading up to the NCAA Selection Show.

The rankings are through games played October 22 and the Wildcats are in consideration with an 8-2-4 overall record. They won their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game against Georgian Court on Wednesday and are now 9-2-4 overall with two games left in the regular season.

Seven teams will make the NCAA DII East Regional Tournament with three teams earning an automatic qualification by winning their conference tournament (CACC, ECC, and Northeast 10). There are four at-large bids open for the remaining teams who do not earn their conference's AQ.

The CACC Tournament begins on Sunday, November 5 with the First Round followed by the Semifinal and Championship hosted by Bridgeport on November 10 and 12.

The Wildcats are on the road for their final two games of the regular season, first at Felician on Saturday night.
