Women’s Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed and Hosting Duties for NCAA East Regional Tournament

WILMINGTON, Del. - - For the second year in a row the Wilmington University women's tennis team is the No. 1 seed in the East Region and will host a Regional Pod at the Delcastle Tennis Center.

The announcement came during the NCAA Selection Show Monday night, as the Wildcats will host a neutral game on Monday, May 1 and then play the winner on Tuesday, May 2 for the East Region #1 Championship.

Fourth-seeded Southern New Hampshire will play fifth-seeded District of Columbia on Day One at the Delcastle Tennis Center. The first serve is set for 12:00 p.m., scheduled to be played on the outdoor courts.

The top-seeded Wildcats will then play the winner of Monday's match on Tuesday starting at 12:00 p.m. as well. The winner of Tuesday's match advances to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Orlando, Florida.

The other half of the East Regional bracket will be played at St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday, May 1. The No. 2 seed Spartans will host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe and No. 3 seed Jefferson starting at 11:30 a.m., with the winner of that match advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Orlando, Florida.
