Three Wildcats Named All-CACC for Volleyball

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Heading into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament tonight, the Wilmington University volleyball team earned three All-Conference honorees, as announced by the conference this morning.

Junior Mandy Behiels earned All-Conference First Team, as senior Rebecca Rawlinson earned a spot on All-Conference Second Team, with sophomore Sarah Couch finishing out the Wildcats by earning All-CACC Third Team.

Behiels earns CACC All-Conference First Team for the first time throughout her career, after earning Second Team All-CACC in 2018. The junior outside hitter leads the Wildcats in kills with 360 on the season, ranking fourth in the CACC. She has over 1,000 attempts on the year, averaging 2.93 kills per set, with a .157 hitting percentage. She also leads the team in serve aces with 65, sitting second in the conference with 0.53 service aces per set. Behiels recorded 330 digs throughout the regular season, averaging 2.68 per set, while leading the team in points with 438 on the year. She also has 16 double-doubles on the year in kills and digs.

Senior Rebecca Rawlinson notched Second Team All-CACC for the first time in her career. She currently leads the CACC with 125 blocks on the season, including 58 solo and 67 block assists. On September 28, Rawlinson recorded 10 blocks for a season-high against USciences, including seven solo blocks. She is averaging 1.03 blocks per set, ranking her second in the CACC. The middle hitter is third on the team with 274 kills and has recorded 89 digs throughout the regular season. In 121 sets played, she has a .298 hitting percentage, which is third overall in the CACC.

Sarah Couch has earned her first All-CACC honor with a spot on Third Team All-CACC this year. The sophomore leads the CACC with 1,228 assists on the season, averaging 9.98 per set, to rank her second in the conference. On October 19, she dished out a career-high 62 assists against Mercy, breaking the single-match record of 61 set back in 2004 by Angie Estep. In all 33 matches, she has recorded 274 digs to average 2.23 per set. With her 1,228 assists so far this season, she has already broken the record for most assists in a season, set by Maranda Shaw in 2015 with 1,012. Throughout the regular season, she has recorded 12 doubles-doubles in assists and digs. She also has 56 service aces and 18 kills going into the post season.

Holy Family would earn two honorees, including Carly Convington, who was named CACC Player of the Year and Morgan Silks, who eared CACC Setter of the Year. The University of the Sciences' Tori Wright was named CACC Rookie of the Year, while Felician's Seirra Gallagher earned CACC Defensive Player of the Year, along with John Chang who rounded out the award winners for CACC Coach of the Year. Nyack College was the recipient of the team sportsmanship award this year.
