Angel Oliver Named CACC Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - After leading her team to a 2-0 week inside the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, Wilmington University middle hitter Angel Oliver has been named the CACC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Angel Oliver (Jersey City, N.J.) led the Wildcats to CACC victories of Goldey-Beacom, 3-0, and Caldwell, 3-1, last week. The Wildcats are now 17-10 overall and 11-2 in the CACC, holding at No. 2 in the South Division. They are on a five-match winning streak as well.

Oliver finished second on the team with 23.5 points in the two matches, putting down 15 kills while leading the team with 16 total blocks. She also led the team with a .294 attack percentage, committing only five errors on 34 attempts.

Against Goldey-Beacom, Oliver collected eight kills and seven block assists while coming back and putting down seven terminations with only one error at Dominican, hitting .333 for the match. She also picked up eighth block assists and one solo block against the Chargers.

She finished the week in averaging 2.14 kills, 0.57 digs, and 2.29 blocks per set.

Men's soccer's Pol Romero, and women's soccer's Jimena Garcia Risoto and Samantha Emmi were all named on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for their efforts last week as well.
