Mandy Behiels Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Volleyball Team

NEWARK, Del. - - Getting is done on the court and in the classroom, Wilmington University volleyball's Mandy Behiels has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 1 Team, as voted on by the East Region's sports information directors.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

As a senior this year, Mandy Behiels (Edmonton, Alberta) led the Wildcats with 2.81 kills per set, putting down 348 on the year. She was also third on the team with 378 digs year, averaging 3.05 per set. She finished second on the team with 400.0 points, averaging 3.23 per set. She became the fifth player in the Wildcats' NCAA era to the 1,000-career kill and 1,000-career dig club. She finished second all-time with her 1,314 career kills and seventh all-time with 1,284 career digs.

In the classroom, Behiels graduated from Wilmington with an undergraduate degree in psychology with a cumulative grade point average of 3.94. She is currently through one block of her master's degree, earning a perfect 4.0 while studying for her MS in Huma Services Practice.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Team is automatically nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-American Teams, which will be voted on by NCAA Division II sports information directors country-wide. The Academic All-America Teams will be announced in early December.
