Men’s Cross Country Starts 2016 Ranked in USTFCCCA Preseason East Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. - - With the opening weekend of NCAA Division II Cross Country starting this Thursday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its preseason Regional Rankings.

Following another run to a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, the men's squad starts the season as the ninth ranked team in the East Region. Reigning East Regional Champion American International once again claim the top spot.

The Wildcats are the only team from the CACC named in the Top-10, with seven teams coming from the Northeast 10 Conference and the final two remaining teams from the East Coast Conference.

Following AIC in the top five is Bentley, Stonehill, Franklin Pierce and Southern New Hampshire. Adelphi, Roberts Wesleyan, Merrimack, Wilmington, and LIU Post round out the Top 10.

The Wildcats begin the 2016 season with their lone home event on Saturday, September 3 at Carousel Park. The 16th Annual WUXC Invite starting gun is set to go off at 9:45 am for the women and 10:30 am for the men.
