Jack McDonald Named NCBWA East Region Hitter of the Week

NEWARK, Del. - - Junior catcher Jack McDonald has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Hitter of the Week, for games ending on April 2.

Jack McDonald (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) helped lead the Wildcats to a 5-2 week last week, winning the final five games. He led the offense with a .750 batting average, going 12-for-16 with a double, a triple, and two homers, leading the team with a 1.313 slugging percentage. He batted 3-for-3 with an RBI in game one against Bridgeport and then went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI against Jefferson on Saturday. McDonald finished the week going 5-for-7 with a double, triple, and a home run in a doubleheader sweep at Caldwell on Sunday.

Staten Island pitcher Ryan Kehoe was named the NCBWA East Region Pitcher of the Week after striking out 11 batters against regionally ranked Molloy. He tossed a 9-inning complete game shutout in an 11-0 victory. He only allowed one walk in the win.
