NEWARK, Del. - - Three goals in the opening 13 minutes were more than enough for the streaking Wilmington University men's soccer team, winning its fourth straight contest with a 6-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Dominican on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex.

The win helps bunch the middle of the pack in the CACC standings, with the Wildcats (6-7-2, 5-3-1 CACC) stand in a tie for fifth place with 16 points, but just four points out of first place help by Post. The Wildcats and Bridgeport are tied with 16 points and face off next Saturday.

The Wildcats carried its momentum from its shutout on Wednesday into Saturday, scoring in the opening 25 seconds, again just 2:07 into the game, and a third just 13:10 into the match to take a 3-0 lead. Jhamaleek Porter took a deflected pass from Lenny Greifenberg and volleyed it home just 25 seconds into the match, scoring his fifth goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, Theo Faillon was tripped entering the box, being awarded a chance form the spot. He buried it just 2:07 into the match for his 15th goal of the year. Now in the 14th minute, Faillon was fouled in the box again, this time on a rebound opportunity on the end line, again converting the PK for his CACC leading 16th goal of the year. The Wildcats outshot the Chargers (2-10-1, 1-7-1 CACC), 12-5, in the first half and took a 3-0 lead into the halftime break.

Michiharu Takanashi made it a 4-0 game in the 59th minute, heading home a ball into the box by Lenny Greifenberg. The freshman wasn't done though, adding his second of the game and seventh of the season in the 78th minute, scoring off connecting passing from Alex Tarway and Stanley Ho to make it 5-0.

Seconds later, Tarway, who had been flirting with a goal all afternoon, finally broke through in the 78th minute. The Wildcats gained possession off the kick-off and Tarway broke loose on the right side. He scored 36 seconds after Takanashi, getting played into the box by Josh Bell for the 6-0 lead in the 78th minute.

The Wildcats outshot the Chargers, 18-3, in the second half, ending with a 30-8 advantage for the match. Dominican earned more corners in the game though, 6-5. Charlie Phillips made two stops for his second straight shutout.

The Wildcats step outside CACC play for the final time this regular season with a contest against Mercy on Wednesday. The home game is scheduled for a 3:30 start at the WU Athletics Complex.
