DALLAS, Texas – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released it NCAA Division II National and Regional Players of the Week for the week ending on April 11, 2021, and Wilmington's Quintin Ivy was named the East Region's Player of the Week.
Quintin Ivy led the baseball team with eight hits and eight RBI in five games last week, batting .500 and reaching base at a .619 clip. He had at least one hit in every game, including a 3-for-4 performance in game one at Post. He also homered in each game of the Felician doubleheader, including a game-tying two-run shot in the opener. He also batted 2-for-4 with two RBI in the night cap against Felician as well.
Southern New Hampshire's Jeffrey Praml was named the East Region's Pitcher of the Week after he went the distance in Friday's 7-0 game-two victory against Saint Anselm, as he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out 11 and not walking a batter. Praml, who has allowed just one earned run over his last 33-and-a-third innings dating back to last season, retired the final 12 batters he faced, including eight via strikeout.
Truman State senior outfielder Kory Carter was named the National Hitter of the Week while University of Mary sophomore pitcher Jonathan Draheim was named the National Pitcher of the Week.
