After the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, the Wilmington University golf team holds a 12-stroke lead over the field with a 295 (+7) while Wildcats hold top two scores.
Sophomore Freddy Braun leads the field with the lone sub-par score of the day, shooting a 70 (-2) in the first round held at the ACE Club. He is three strokes ahead of the field after the first day.
Freshman Joey Russo is tied for second after the first round, shooting a 73 (+1) on Tuesday. Senior Alexander Lautenschlaeger shot a 75 (+3) to sit in a tie for sixth for the Wildcats' third team score of the day.
Both senior Andreas Lunding and junior Jordan finished in a tie for 13th after the first round, shooting a 77 (+5) on Tuesday to round out the Wildcat scoring. Only one of the two scores factored into the team's 295 score however.
Nyack is in second after a 307 (+19) on Tuesday followed by Concordia's 308 (+20). Post scored a 318 (+30) to sit in fourth while Goldey-Beacom rounds out the top-five with a 321 (+33) in the first round.
The Wildcats are going for their fifth straight CACC Championship and round out the tournament on Wednesday with the second round. The final round of the Championship begins at 8:00 a.m. with tee times. The Wildcats will be last off the tee box on Wednesday with a rough tee-off time of 9:30 a.m.
