HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - - Freshman Noah Wallace is in the hunt after two rounds at the 2024 Griffin Invitational, sitting in fourth to lead the Wilmington University golf team at the Mission Inn Resort hosted by Saint Leo University.
The Wildcats are in eighth place after two rounds, shooting rounds of 296 and 297 for a 593 (+25). The host Lions are in front by four strokes, shooting rounds of 285-290 for a 575 (+7). Eckerd and Coker are in second with identical 579 (+11) two round scores.
Noah Wallace shot rounds of 68 (-3) and 73 (+2) to be one of only four players under par through the first two rounds with a 141 (-1). He posted four birdies and only one bogey in the first round and added two more birdies with four bogeys in the second round.
Pablo Quintero took five strokes off his first round score of 77 with a 72 (+1) in the second round, finishing in 33rd overall with a 149 (+7). He collected 17 pars in the second round.
Sacha Brown is in 38th after the first two rounds, shooting rounds of 73 (+2)-77 (+6) for a 150 (+8). Ryan Heenan shots rounds of 78-77 for a 155 (+13) to sit in 56th overall while Josh Freeman rounds out the Wildcats on the course in 61st overall with rounds of 83-75 for a 158 (+16).
Coker's Derek McGlaughlin tops the leaderboard after a 65 (-6) second round, sitting at 136 (-6). Saint Leo's Enzo Barbaglia is also atop the leaderboard with a 136 (-6), shooting rounds of 67-69 to get his score. Eckerd's Reggie Fear is the only other person ahead of Wallace on the leaderboard, shooting rounds of 68-70 for a 138 (-4).
The third and final round of The Griffin Invite is set for Tuesday morning.
