Noah Wallace Finishes Third Overall as Wildcat Wrap Up The Griffin Invitational

HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - - Freshman Noah Wallace finished in a tie for third place at The Griffin Invitational, leading the Wilmington University golf team to a 10th place finish against a tough southern field.

The Wildcats shot a 305 in the final round on Tuesday, closing out their 296-297-305 for an 898 (+46). Palm Beach Atlantic jumped up three spots to win the tournament with a 285 on Tuesday, finishing with an 865 (+13) to beat host Saint Leo by four strokes.

Noah Wallace was in the mix from start to finish shooting rounds of 68-73-73 on the Par 71 course, finishing in a tie for third overall with a 214 (+1). On Tuesday, he birdied the par four ninth to make the turn at even par, and then collected seven pars and two bogeys on the back nine to shoot a 73 (+2). He finished the tournament with 39 pars, seven birdies, and eight bogeys.

Pablo Quintero shot a 77 (+6) on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 40th overall. He posted scores of 77-72-77 for a 226 (+13). He made the turn with a 34 (-1) on Tuesday, hitting eight pars and adding a birdie.

Freshman Josh Freeman moved up two spots to finish in a tie for 51st overall with a 77 (+6) on Tuesday. He finished the tournament with a 78-75-77 for a 230 (+17).

Senior Sacha Brown finished in a tie for 54th overall, shooting scores of 73-77-81 for a 231 (+18). Brown had three birdies in Tuesday's round. Ryan Heenan rounded out the Wildcats on the course by finishing in 62nd overall with rounds of 83-77-78 for a 238 (+25).

Eckerd's Reggie Fear won medalist honors by six strokes, shooting rounds of 68-70-67 for a 205 (-8). Saint Leo's Enzo Barbaglia was the only other golfer under par with a 67-69-75 for a 211 (-2).

The Wildcats remain in the Sunshine State for one more tournament this month, as they will compete in the 14th Annual Jay Jennison Cup at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine. The tournament is hosted by Flagler College and will begin on Monday, September 23.
