
GREENSBURG, Pa. - - Appearing in its first NCAA Tournament game, the No. 6 seed Wilmington University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 3 seed Seton Hill, 15-7, on Wednesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The Wildcats finish the 2025 season with an 11-5 record, earning an at-large bid into the NCAA North Region Tournament for the first time in program history. They join Georgian Court as the first teams in the CACC to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
On Wednesday, the Wildcats hung tough with Seton Hill, scoring the first two goals of the game and only trailing the Griffins by three goals at the halftime break and at the end of the third quarter. But the Griffins buckled down in the fourth quarter, winning the frame, 5-0, to widen the margin at the end.
The Wildcats came out with something to prove, outshooting the Griffins, 6-2, before Kyle Parker lifted the lid on the game with the first goal with 8:18 to play in the quarter. The Wildcats won the ensuing faceoff and scored on the following possession, as Toby Templeton scored to make it 2-0 with 7:26 to play.
But the Griffins got on the board just 18 seconds later and then tied the game, with 4:15 to play in the quarter. The Wildcats had some opportunities late but couldn't score and then Daniel Flynn made a save with nine seconds left to send the game into the second quarter locked at 2-2. The Wildcats outshot the Griffins, 13-11, in the first quarter.
Seton Hill continued its run into the second quarter, scoring the first four goals to open a 6-2 lead. Andrew Dzubak stopped the 6-0 run with a goal with 4:38 to play before the half. Daniel Flynn made three more saves and then Carter Earl scored for the Wildcats again, making it a 6-4 game with 2:00 minutes to play. But the Griffins won the ensuing face-off and scored on their possession, taking a 7-4 lead into the halftime break.
Kyle Parker scored his second of the game to start the third quarter, but then the Griffins went on a 3-0 run to open a 10-5 lead. Cole Hamberger broke the run with a goal with 7:11 to play in the third quarter and then Andrew Dzubak beat his defender and the clock, scoring with three seconds on the clock, sending the Wildcats into the fourth quarter trailing, 10-7.
Carter Earl got a shot off early in the fourth quarter, but the Griffins' Will Cody came up with the save. The Griffins scored on the ensuing possession, sparking a 5-0 fourth-quarter run. A shot from Josh Weston hit the post before back-to-back shots from Earl and Dzubak were both saved. Five turnovers in the fourth quarter hurt the Wildcats' chances of making a comeback.
Kyle Parker led the Wildcats with two goals and an assist, while Andrew Dzubak scored two goals. Carter Earl had a goal and an assist, while Cole Hamberger finished with a goal and an assist. Daniel Flynn made 13 saves while Quinn Tracy and Julian Businsky each had two caused turnovers. Tyler Quinn scooped up eight ground balls in the game.
The Griffins advance to play No. 2 Saint Anselm in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. Saint Anselm defeated No. 7 Bentley, 17-12.
