NEWARK, Del. – With two second half goals, the Wilmington University men's soccer team went on to beat Bloomfield, 2-0, at the WU Athletics Complex on Saturday for Senior Day.

The Wildcats (9-1-4, 6-1-2 CACC) had nine seniors they honored before their contest with Bloomfield (4-8, 3-6 CACC) began. Vinny Tasca, Dominic Folarin, Manuel Ruiz Luque, Sam Jester, Will Stone, Daniel Loyo, Joel Flores, Jaime Navalpotro, and Matt Paranczak were all recognized for WilmU.

Wilmington started the first half with 10 shots on goal to Bloomfield's two, including Fredrik Bendtal's shot in front of the net in the 35th minute that was blocked by Bloomfield's Alex Idrovo and rebounded by Joe Bell, but was saved again by the Bears' goalkeeper off of an impressive reaction from off the ground.

Six minutes into the second half, Wilmington's Fredrick Bendtal made a beautiful long cross pass to Tom Garratt on the back post to give WilmU the 1-0 lead over Bloomfield. Tom Garratt then would save the ball from going out of bounds to the left of the net and make a pass to Will Stone in front for the second goal of the game in the 71st minute of play.

The Wildcats out-shot the Bear's 17-3 with 10 corners to their two.

Tom Garratt's goal made it his ninth on the season and the sixth for Will Stone.

In a battle of the CACC's top two teams in the standings, Wilmington will host Georgian Court Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in their final home game of the regular season.
