BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - - Theo Faillon contributed on all three goals as the Wilmington University men's soccer team picked up its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory, 3-2, over Bloomfield on the road on Saturday.
The offense came to life on Saturday, producing 34 shots, including 13 on goal, and six corners in the win. The Wildcats are now 3-1-1 in their least five games overall.
It was Bloomfield that struck first on Saturday though, as the Bears got on the board in the 14th minute. But the Wildcats struck right back, tying the game on Tsubasa Abe's second goal of the season, getting an assist from Theo Faillon in the 18th minute.
The CACC leader in goals and points would strike again for the Wildcats in the 31st minute, pouncing on a rebound opportunity. Jhamaleek Porter put the shot on frame that was saved and Theo Faillon was there for his 12th goal of the season.
Theo Faillon added another one late in the first half, scoring his 13th of the year off an assist from Michiharu Takanashi in the 41st minute to make it 3-1 before the half.
Michiharu Takanashi hit the crossbar in the 78th minute in the second half, a part of the Wildcats' 19 second half shots. Bloomfield scored on their one shot attempt in the second half, getting to within a goal in the 86th minute.
MIchiharu Takanashi and Lenny Greifenberg led the Wildcats with six shots each as Jhamaleek Porter and Theo Faillon added five shots each. Charlie Phillips made two saves for the win.
The Wildcats step outside the CACC for their midweek game this week, traveling north to Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday afternoon. The opening kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Hooksett, New Hampshire.
