Trent Taylor and the 4x400 Team Win Events at Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - - Trent Taylor and the men's 4x400 meter relay team won events for the Wilmington University track and field team at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on Saturday, running at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

As a team, the men finished fourth overall, scoring 48.5 points while the women finished 11th overall with 10 points.

The Wildcats had two event winners with Trent Taylor willing the 5000-meter with a personal record time of 15:31.83. The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Tyler Levons, Dallas Parker, Juan Fountain, and Bostwick Patten won its event as well, running the four laps in 3:27.98.

Dallas Parker gave the Wildcats four points to the team score with a 5th place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.64. Trent Taylor gave the Wildcats 10 points for winning the 5000-meter race, but teammate Dan Wyshinski helped with six more points in the event, finishing third overall with a time of 15:39.40.

Moving over to the field, Parker added another 2.5 points for his efforts in the high jump, finishing sixth overall with a high of 1.83 meters. Rayhan Issah finished third overall in the long jump with a day's best of 6.78 meters, giving the team six more points. Christian Dollard tossed the hammer a distance of 41.12 meters, finishing seventh overall for two team points. In addition to the 4x400 meter relay team earning 10 points, the 4x200 meter relay team finished third overall with a time of 1:28.74, adding another eight points to the team score.

On the women's side, Tiffany Banning finished seventh in the 5000-meter event, earning the team two points for her time of 19:43.06. Viviana Caamano spun the hammer 38.78 meters, placing seventh overall for two more points for the Wildcats. The 4x400 meter relay team of Eliza Hildreth, Angie Chomo, Deja Curry, and Tiffany Banning picked up the final six points for the women, finishing third overall with a time of 4:29.75.

The Wildcats head to Maryland next weekend to compete in the Towson Invitational, running at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
